Why did it happen?

“Some things happen just because they have to happen” - akp

Some things that happen in life make us ask, “Why did it happen that way?” At times we like to go back in time to stop/change the event that had eventually led to something “happening that way”. We would like all those things that had led to “that” to become a dream so that we can wake up and find life to be smooth. Everyone experiences this at some point in life and life becomes miserable when one thinks more about it and wants to answer the question, “Why did it happen?” Of course there is an answer to every question (about life) and this too has an answer. But why life becomes miserable is that the situation is so complex that people expect the answer to be complex too. But, actually the answer is simple. And, more than just being simple, the answer is invariably the same for all those situations that make people raise the question, “Why did it happen that way?” The answer is what I have quoted above. “Some things happen just because they have to happen”.

I know: You would not accept this. This would seem ridiculous. You might argue that this is not an answer in the first place since it does not explain anything. I told you, “the answer is simple”. And, the simplicity is what puzzles people. And, those who understand and accepts this answer will lead a happy life.

true, some things happen because they have to happen but it's the other things that I'm interested in ;)

jokes apart, here's a complex version of your simple answer (a corollary, may be): some things happen because if they didn't happen, life would be smooth and if life was smooth all the time, you're never gonna learn to appreciate it.

Ain't this post completely out of your style? For some reason, I couldn't see the logical connection / reason to it as I could find your other posts.

You could counter argue with your statement "I know: You would not accept this. This would seem ridiculous. You might argue that this is not an answer in the first place since it does not explain anything."

I was looking for a logical answer rather than a hypothetical answer. Could have been better though!

@ Roopa

Thanks for the comment... Mr/Ms. Anonymous has a good point to make though... I think I should have to re-think over this post of mine!

No... I am not going to counter argue the point you make as what you say is true.

Long time back (in 1999 or 2000), one of my roommates at college put forth a question when I was telling my views on God . He asked, "If the word God is to be thought of as what you say then how would you explain something like a child born with physical diability?" Now, this could not be explained by my idea of God. That is why I mentioned in my blog that my idea of God "explains most of the issues but not everything". I came across more of such questions going through the novel, "Ancient promises" by Jaishree Misra. The point that I want to make is that I still am not able to find logically convincing answers to some questions (or rather many questions!)... and, some intuition says that the answer is "some things happen just because they have to happen"... but I did feel (after writing that post) that I should have tried to find a logical point to support my post. Anyhow, now your comment has set my thoughts into thinking more on this... may be someday I will get an answer and post it...

By the way, thanks for reading my blogs... constructive criticism like yours is what I had always wanted... And, it would be nice if could let me know who you are... (I suppose - from your style of writing - that you have not commented before... nor do I know you personally)... In case you happen to read this just let me know who you are...
